Arrah is a city and a municipal corporation in Bhojpur district in the state of Bihar, India. The name is also sometimes transliterated as Ara. It is the headquarter of Bhojpur district. Arrah is an ancient city with references in mythological stories and Greek geographical works. The present Bhojpur (Arrah) came into existence in 1992. Earlier this district was part of old Sahabad district. The greatest freedom fighter Veer Kunwar Singh alive the war of east india compay in 1857. Ara located on the confluence of river Gangas and Sone, the city boast of its rich historical heritage and architectural establishments. Dozens of old temple are here.
