Eluru is a city in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is also the headquarters of West Godavari district. It is situated on the national highway NH 5 connecting Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam. Eluru City is bounded by Denduluru Mandal towards East, Pedapadu Mandal towards west, Pedavegi Mandal towards North, and Bapulapadu Mandal towards west. It was earlier called Helapuri and has a rich cultural and political history.
