Nagaon is an administrative district in the state of Assam in india. As of 2011 it is the most  population district in assam and one of the largest in area. Economy of Nagaon District, in terms of natural resources endowment, is purely agrarian. On 29 September 1989, Marigaon district was split from Nagaon.
